He is also a member of the Academic Committee of the Energy Transition and Social Development Research Center of Tsinghua University, President-elect of International Gas Union coordination committee, and the Deputy Director of the editorial board of "International Petroleum Economy". He has served as Senior Advisor to the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency from 2016 to 2019, Director and Deputy Director General of the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration since 2002. He is committed to promoting energy transition, energy reform, and global energy governance, participated in the research and formulation of a number of energy policies, and is enthusiastic about the Public Awareness of energy. He is the author of several popular energy related books and articles.
杨雷博士，北京大学能源研究院研究员、副院长，清华大学能源转型与社会发展研究中心学术委员会委员，国际燃气联盟（IGU）协调委员会候任主席，《国际石油经济》编委会副主任。曾历任国际能源署署长高级顾问，国家发改委和国家能源局处长、副司长等职。他致力于推动能源转型、能源改革和全球能源治理，参与了多项能源政策的研究制定，热心能源的公众普及工作，发表了多部能源相关研究著作及大量学术及科普文章。
