Mr. Zhao has proposed several innovative theories, such as sag-wide oil bearing in hydrocarbon-rich sags, large-scale hydrocarbon accumulation in lithological-stratigraphic reservoirs, and successive generation of natural gas from organic materials, which have contributed greatly to several significant breakthroughs in onshore oil and gas exploration and discovery of multiple large oil/gas fields in China. He has won one first-prize and three second-prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Award, and three special-prizes and ten first-prizes of provincial/ministerial science and technology progress award. He has been honored with the Li Siguang Geological Science Award, the CNPC Outstanding Scientific & Technical Worker, the Sun Yueqi Energy Science & Technology Award, and He Liang & He Li Scientific & Technical Innovation Award, etc. He has contributed 8 monographs and over 230 academic papers. 赵文智，中国工程院院士，石油地质与油气勘探著名专家，教授级高级工程师，博士生导师。长期从事石油与天然气地质基础理论研究、油气资源评价与国家油气安全战略研究，提出富油气凹陷"满凹含油"、"岩性地层油气藏大面积成藏"和有机质"接力成气"等创新理论，指导了我国陆上油气勘探领域多项重大突破，推动发现多个大油气田。获国家科技进步一等奖1项、二等奖3项；省（部）级科技进步特等奖3项，一等奖10项。获李四光地质科学奖、中国石油"杰出科技工作者奖"、孙越崎能源大奖、何梁何利科技创新奖等。出版专著8部，发表论文230余篇。
