Zayd covers helps direct the Upstream Capital Costs Service (UCCS) and covers offshore vessel markets, providing quarterly market intelligence that informs cost updates and long-term forecasts.
His earlier role was as a Principal Cost Analyst for the QUE$TOR cost estimation tool, responsible for covering multiple markets that contribute to upstream development. Before joining IHS Markit, Zayd was an Applications Engineer at Baker Hughes, where he was mainly responsible for supporting operations in the Middle East. Previously, as part of his graduate studies at the American University of Beirut, he was part of a research team composed of university professors and officials from the Ministry of Energy and Water, which was tasked with answering questions pertaining to Lebanon's emerging hydrocarbons sector. His research focused on developing a mathematical model investigating various scenarios, with the aim of aiding decision-making efforts in the drafting of the country's hydrocarbon laws.
Zayd holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's degree in Engineering Management from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon.
