Curtis has been with the company for 23 years and previously worked at Marathon Oil Company and ConocoPhillips Company, Oil Majors.

While his experience covers a wide range of technical and business related projects as well as training and support, his key strength is a knowledge of technical and business data and products (with a strong focus on S&P Global data, tools and products) and their use and application in the upstream oil and gas industry, particularly in the realm of Unconventional Resources. Current and recent projects include an emphasis on unconventional resources. With respect to unconventional resources he has both worked and managed aspects of technical and commercial evaluations including geologic properties, engineering well performance, development cost, the use of technology and future potential, and economic analysis for the majority of important unconventional plays in North America. In addition, he has worked with geoscience experts located around the globe to assist in evaluating international unconventional plays, with emphasis on applying analogues from North American plays to perform technical and commercial evaluations.

Recent experience includes managing and delivering major consulting projects that include evaluations of specific unconventional assets, regional studies and integration of upstream work into midstream and downstream engagements. He has coordinated joint offerings with subsidiary companies Herolds and CERA (Cambridge Energy Research Associates) and managed the technical aspects of multi-client offerings.

Curtis holds a BS and MS in geology from Brigham Young University and is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
