Phil Smith is an Economics Associate Director working in the Economic Indicators & Surveys team at S&P Global Market Intelligence.Phil works as an economist in the Economic Indicators & Surveys team, responsible for creating the Purchasing Managers Index (PMI). He is the author of the Germany and Austria PMI surveys and is also responsible for the production and management of the regional PMI portfolio for England and Wales. His other involvements include the creation and monitoring of the survey panel structures, assisting in new product development, and providing technical support to clients.
Phil joined the team in February 2011 after graduating from the University of Nottingham, UK, with a first class honours Bachelor of Science in Economics and Master of Science with distinction in Applied Economics and Financial Economics. He is based in the UK.
