Kevin Bourne
Kevin is deeply involved with solving the ESG data jigsaw puzzle created by the growing need to link multiple frameworks together to capture the most effective library of relevant information. Kevin leads the build out of the data platform that covers both companies & countries ESG profiles. He is particularly focused on the growing engagement by national regulators and supervisory bodies with the establishment of their own ESG frameworks. He manages the internal ESG data repository that cross references fourteen leading frameworks such as UN SDGs, TCFD, SASB, GRI with almost ten thousand ESG data points in addition to the ESG schemas for 7,400 public companies & 211 countries.Previously Kevin was Global Head of Sustainable Investment at LSEG/FTSE Russell and was responsible for implementing their new ESG & Green revenues data models, systems and indexes. Prior to this, Kevin has 25 years' experience in equities trading with his final appointment being as Managing Director & Global Head of Electronic & Portfolio Trading at HSBC. He was a founding member of the EMEA FIX committee whilst trading at Salomon Brothers and has seen the material impact that standards can have on financial markets.
Reza Eftekhari
Reza is an expert in special situations and leads our activism practice in Europe as well as advises clients on their shareholder sensitivities, whether it be in relation to deal support, ESG and corporate governance sensitivities, ESG activism or general meeting preparation.He previously worked at Morrow Sodali as a Director and was responsible for the UK market. Reza has held key managerial positions within shareholder advisory and consultancy businesses in London including 6 years at Georgeson and 4 years at D.F. King. Since 2007, he has contributed to the success of a large number of high-profile UK and cross-border M&A transactions that were implemented via scheme of arrangement or public tender offers. These deals include the takeover of Liverpool and Manchester City FCs, Lloyds/HBOS, Kraft/Cadbury, British Airways/Iberia, Shell/BG Group, Takeda/Shire and Visa/Earthport. He has also managed and executed a large number of activist mandates, shareholder engagement campaigns and corporate governance projects on behalf of some of the most notable FTSE100 and 250 companies.In 2016 he completed his Executive MBA at the Imperial College Business School in London.
Sara Abbasi
Sara has worked on projects involving ESG and governance risk assessments, proxy solicitation and M&A campaigns for leading banks and companies mainly in (but not limited to) the French, German and UK markets, with an aim to maximize shareholder participation.Sara has a strong background in journalism and communication, which she is able to use during proxy solicitation and M&A campaigns to create key communications materials for investors on behalf of clients. She has previously utilized communications strategies during contested campaigns to understand investor sentiment, convey key messages to the investor base, encourage shareholder engagement, thus increasing support for clients. Prior to joining the team, Sara worked in the proxy solicitation team at D.F. King Ltd, where the UK was her core market. She has worked on campaigns for Santander, Lloyds, Imperial Brands, L'Oreal, among others.Sara has a Master's degree in Journalism, Media and Globalization (University of Hamburg) and a Bachelor's degree in English and German Literature (University of Warwick).
Atsushi Matsunaga
Atsushi focuses on analyzing and advising APAC and Japanese issuers on governance risks leading up to contentious proxy campaign situations through an ESG, M&A, and governance lens.He has over 20 years of experience in the corporate governance advisory service industry of Japan. Prior to joining S&P Global in Summer 2020, Atsushi spent 12 years as a corporate governance consultant including board evaluations and the proxy voting simulation at IR Japan. Before that, he had provided IR consulting services at IR Japan. Atsushi earned his bachelor's degree in Economics at Meiji Gakuin.He is a CMA (Certified Member Analyst of the Securities Analysts Association of Japan) charterholder. Atsushi worked with some clients on proxy businesses, such as Nomura Holdings (JPN), Sanrio (JPN) , Tsukasa Corporation (JPN) and LG Chem (KOR).
