Maritime Emissions Registry - Developing the world’s largest and most accurate database of ship emissions.
Amid increasing environmental concerns, public and private sectors are calling for more transparent and accurate disclosure of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from maritime shipping. The Maritime Emissions Registry (MER) was developed as a non-operational, non-reporting database to provide accurate and transparent fuel consumption and GHG emissions estimates of maritime vessels on a single platform. The output (the vessel’s emissions in gCO2 over a journey) can then be aggregated at various levels, such as annual performance and ownership structure. Harnessing unique maritime data assets and real-time intelligence from our Ships data, AIS terrestrial and satellite network, MER brings multiple shipping insights to a single platform. It eliminates the challenges of EU/IMO public databases, of asking shipowners for data, of relying on inaccurate emissions generator or having to subscribe to auditor/verifiers platforms which is currently unavailable.
