S&P Global Market Intelligence adds sustainability lens to BD Advanced

One of the most complex business challenges for our clients today is their need to support institutional asset managers in understanding their sustainable investment goals. To help sell-side clients match to the right investors, S&P Global Market Intelligence has added a sophisticated sustainability lens to BD Advanced providing detailed data on funds, contacts, and their approach to sustainable investing.

BD Advanced is now enhanced with profile information across institutional investors focused on sustainability criteria and metrics. Buy-side investors can accurately highlight their sustainability credentials in BD Advanced listings to flag their interest in relevant investment opportunities.

Contacts with a focus on sustainable investing are available, and profiles include details of their job functions and titles. Advanced features - including issuer, security scores and fund-level information will be available later this year, along with upgraded issuer and security profile user interfaces.

The market can also search for cross-asset sustainability officers and other professionals in similar roles. This enables clients to efficiently prospect for targeted contacts while being confident that the information is up to date, validated, and trustworthy.

The new data and insights available in BD Advanced leverage S&P Global ESG scores for issuers linked to their securities, as well as with analysis of each fund's portfolio of holdings. This quantitative data is augmented with additional context around sustainability preferences and up-to-date contact details. The intention is to empower users with the right information to better understand their clients and navigate their unique sustainability journey.

Key to the integration of sustainability information has been a focus on going beyond a top-level score to provide a sharper, more nuanced view of the sustainability investment landscape. This enables clients to have control over the process of evaluating an investor and understanding the underlying data to draw their own sustainability conclusions.

Users will be able to use BD Advanced sustainability profiles and scores to:

• Develop a list of asset manager contacts by sustainability title and functional role.
• Build a target list for sustainability-related road shows.
• View the sustainability scores of securities or issues in an investor's portfolio and search for securities based on their sustainability scores (composite as well as environment, social and governance rankings) to create peer groups of securities to identify suitable potential investors.
• Search for bond designations, such as "green bond" for fixed income securities.
• See the percentage of the account's Assets Under Management (AUM) invested via sustainable funds.
