Singapore banks’ dividends to make strong comeback in FY 2021
The banking trio of DBS, UOB, and OCBC in Singapore are expected to increase dividends by an average rate of 40% on a dividends-per-share (DPS) basis in fiscal year (FY) 2021 in the base case scenario, with estimated total dividend payouts expected in the amount of US$5.1 billion, versus US$3.6 billion in 2020.
China’s national carbon market officially opened trading
On 16 July 2021, China's national carbon market or emission trading scheme (ETS) started trading at the Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange. The trading inauguration of the world's largest carbon market with over 4 billion metric tons of carbon emissions each year in its first phase marks an important milestone of a market-based tool to help China address its carbon emissions issue.

Sage has been with S&P Global since 2011. Prior to joining S&P Global, Sage was responsible for Pricing and Valuations at Fitch Solutions in London. He spent a portion of his career at tier-one investment banks, starting at Salomon Brothers then Citi Global Markets, Bank of America N.A and RBC Capital Markets across Fixed income Derivative Trading, Product Management and Product Development functions across London, New York and Toronto. Over the last 11 years, Sage has been leading S&P Global's Pricing, Valuations and Reference Data franchise in APAC across Fixed Income & Derivatives markets. The PVR product suite provides information which addresses the challenges and reforms faced by our Asia Pacific customers in today's evolving financial markets landscape.
Randolf Tantzscher
Randolf is responsible for product management of Asian Indices. He joined the company in 2008 to establish the research and design team within Indices and he moved to Asia in 2011 to drive the expansion of S&P Global indices in Asia, including the launch of the several new index families, the integration of the Asian bond indices from HSBC and the index partnership with ChinaBond Pricing Center on onshore Chinese bond indices. He has more than 15 years of experience in the Asian fixed income market and in designing and managing indices across different asset classes. Prior to joining S&P Global, he spent seven years at Concerto Financial Solutions and FACT Unternehmensberatung GmbH, where he was responsible for creating and launching several iBoxx indices.Randolf is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, English and German and is a graduate in finance from Passau University in Germany.
Peter Alleston
Peter joined S&P Global in 2015 with equity derivatives, private equity, private credit, and special situations experience. He has spoken at regional conferences and published thought leadership articles on topics including regulation, accounting, and valuation best practice. Prior to joining the company Peter spent nine years at Deutsche Bank serving as Vice President - Valuation, spending time in Singapore, Hong Kong and London. He has also worked in various roles at Credit Suisse and BDO Stoy Hayward in the UK.He holds a MSc in Mathematical Trading & Finance from CASS Business School London, a MA in Economics from Cambridge University, and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He is based in Singapore.
Hiroyuki Yoshizawa
Hiroyuki leads the business development across fixed income pricing, derivative valuation service, illiquid asset valuation, and financial data solution.His business offers the solutions to risk management, regulatory compliance and accounting correspondence that are facing liquidity data challenge of financial instruments under recent circumstances. He is also involved in many discussions of data approach investment strategy.Prior to joining S&P Global, he had been a fixed income trader for 25 years in international banks and actively traded various credit, structured, and emerging market products.
